Currently, the most widely recognized international standards in the field of carrier tapes primarily originate from the Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) and the Electronic Industries Association of Japan (EIAJ); among these, IPC standards enjoy the broadest application globally, while EIAJ standards exert significant influence within Japan and certain other Asian countries.

As the electronics manufacturing industry continues to evolve, international standards for carrier tapes are undergoing continuous refinement and updating. In the future, these standards will place greater emphasis on environmental sustainability, intelligence, and customization.

In terms of environmental sustainability, standards will drive the development of carrier tape materials toward options that are recyclable or biodegradable. Regarding intelligence, standards will mandate enhanced information traceability capabilities-such as utilizing technologies like RFID to enable end-to-end tracking of electronic components. As for customization, standards will allow for carrier tapes to be custom-designed to meet specific client requirements-provided they adhere to fundamental technical specifications-thereby catering to the diverse needs of various application scenarios.
