Embossed Carrier Tape

Embossed carrier tape is typically manufactured using thermoplastic materials such as PS (Polystyrene), PC (Polycarbonate), ABS, PET, or APET. These materials offer reliable forming performance and dimensional stability, allowing precise pocket structures to be produced.

For applications involving sensitive electronic components, the material can also include antistatic properties to help reduce electrostatic discharge during packaging and handling.

Embossed carrier tape is produced through a thermoforming process that creates pockets in the plastic tape. These pockets are designed according to the dimensions of the electronic components to ensure stable positioning during transportation and automated feeding.

The tape also includes standardized sprocket holes along the edges, which allow accurate indexing and movement through SMT pick-and-place equipment.
